Spiders
  • Unlike insects, spiders always have four pairs of legs, two body parts, no wings and no antennae.
  • All spiders are venomous predators. Most feed on small insects. Some spiders, spin webs to catch their prey, some actively chase their food, while others prefer to quietly wait for lunch to come to them.
  • Spiders can be found in a variety of places, but typically are found in dark corners or behind stored items.
  • Although all spiders are venomous, they rarely bite and very few are dangerous. The Black Widow Spider and the Brown Recluse spider can cause serious health concerns if they bite and medical attention should be sought if a bite occurs.
